I love to read. I’d rather read a book than watch tv. I’d rather read than go outside, unless I can read outside. I’m currently reading
Here’s a few books I’ve read in the last couple of months:
Unanchored by Stephanie Eding – I gave it 5 stars. I simply loved the book. I couldn’t put it down. I wanted to know what happened next.
Criss Cross by C. C. Warrens – Kept me on the edge of my seat! Stayed up late to read it and then bought the second one.
Juliette and the Monday Mandates by Becky Doughty – Some day I want to write like this. I was taking screenshots and sharing them with family, trying to get them to read it.
Against All Odds by Becca Hart – Amazing read! Loved watching the characters overcome their grief. Enough suspense to keep you on your toes.
Blast from Her Past by Katy Eeten – Great read! I loved Sydney’s transformation.
Sit, Stay, Love by Debbie Burns – The cover intrigued me as did the blurb. I really enjoyed it but be warned there were a few curse words and adult situations, although no details.
Spring is here!
Well, I’m in Arkansas so it’s spring during the day and winter at night. Heater for the ride to work. AC for the ride home. There were snow flurries on my way to church Sunday and it was 80 degrees today. If you don’t like the weather just wait a couple days. 😛
I’ve been writing (not much), critiquing, reading (a bunch), editing Expecting Danger, and promoting Hidden Danger.
While I don’t know the exact sales numbers for Hidden Danger, I do know that it’s been in the top 100 for its category for about 3 weeks. Sure makes a girl feel good.
I’m waiting on my editor to send me the next round of edits on Expecting Danger. In the meantime, I’m going to buckle down and get Finding Danger finished. I want to have it to my editor by November 1st.
I’m going to review several books in the next couple of weeks. I’m even going to try to start doing author interviews. Help me, what questions do you wish you could ask authors?
Release week is coming to an end. Hidden Danger released Tuesday. I took a vacation day and celebrated My friends and family surprised me with a cake decorated with the cover. I can honestly say I’ve devoured a book now. I’ve been on three blogs, links below. I’ve also kept a steady eye on the rankings and reviews.
Here’s the cake:
Here are the blog posts:
The best part of the week was the fact that my eight year old son was baptized this morning! Thank you, Jesus!
I’ve got 5 ARCs to give away. Head over to my Facebook page for your chance to win one.
Hidden Danger releases in 1 week! I’m so excited. I wish we could hit a fast forward button and Tuesday magically be here. I’m taking the day. In preparation for release, I had bookmarks made. Only I didn’t double check the dimensions. I know have plenty of business cards to hand out.

Hidden Danger releases in just 16 days! I’m so excited. I can’t wait for everyone to read it.
Here’s the blurb:
All Maggie Jones wants to do is sell her late father’s property and get out of Whitehaven, Texas as fast as possible—before she runs into the one man she’s spent the past six years avoiding. Someone has other plans for her, though. Sinister plans. And when a seemingly harmless act of vandalism turns into a series of menacing threats, she has no choice but to turn to him for help.
Sheriff Cody Smith never expected to see Maggie again, especially after he’d broken her heart all those years ago. Maybe this is the second chance he’s always wanted. But when he realizes Maggie’s in grave danger, he intends to keep her safe at all costs. With lines from an old nursery rhyme as their only clue, he needs to find out who’s behind this deadly game before the rhyme ends and Maggie’s time runs out. Can he protect her, catch the bad guy, and make amends for past wrongs? Or will old wounds get in the way?
Did you get a chance to see the cover? In case you didn’t
What am I working now? Well, book two in the Small Tow Guardians already has a contract. I was trying to get a Christmas novella written before February 1 but don’t think it will happen. Instead I’ll focus my attention on book three in Small Town Guardians. I already have 6,000 words.
I’m currently sitting on my couch, less than 2 hours away from a new year, watching my 8 year old play LEGO Worlds. My 13 year old wanted to ring in the new year with grandma. I guarantee they’re at her house watching TV counting down to midnight. We’re a wild bunch I tell you. It has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that it’s 18 degrees outside. Why is it so cold? There’s not even any snow on the ground to make it worth it.
2017 has been a great year. I signed 2 book contracts. The first book, Hidden Danger, releases in just 23 days. I am way beyond excited. Going from rough draft, to pitching, to editing, to production has been an incredible learning experience. I’ve grown a lot as a writer. Now, if I can get my brain to just calm down and write more, that would be fantastic. I’m hoping once Hidden Danger releases I’ll be able to concentrate again. I’ve got several stories started and many more dancing around in my head.
I don’t usually make New Year’s resolutions. They never last. Ever. I can’t think of one that’s I’ve actually kept. Lose weight? Nope, always gain it. I am going to make a list of things I am going to work on this year.
- Grow closer to God. I want to read my Bible more. Study it. Relay more on Him and less on me. I need to be steadied and grounded.
- Be a better mother, wife, friend. Listen more. Play more. Care more.
- Get healthy. Yes, I need to lose weight but it’s so much more than that. I want to make good choices, not just for my physical health but for my emotional and mental health.
- Create a writing routine. I want to finish and sell the third book in my Small Town Guardians series. Keep the blog updated. Encourage and inspire others through my writing.
These are goals with no specific end date, weight, circumstance, etc. As long as I keep going and I’m one foot away from where I was yesterday, then it’s progress. I may only read through my Bible and glean a few new things that have never caught my attention but that’s more than what I knew on December 31, 2017. I may only lose 10 pounds but that’s 10 pounds lighter than I was. I may only play card games with people 3 nights a week but those are memories we wouldn’t have otherwise. I may only write 3 chapters but that’s 3 chapters closer to the end.
What are your goals, aspirations, hopes for 2018?
It’s here y’all! Isn’t it absolutely amazing?!?!
Mark your calendars! Cover Reveal for Hidden Danger is this Friday!
